Question:

I have a 2021 Ford Expedition Max with sunroof. I am looking for the largest rooftop cargo box I can get along with whatever crossbars are needed with it.

Hey Lance! The largest carrying capacity for a roof box is 21 cu ft. Out of the available options in this size I recommend the Yakima SkyBox NX XXL Rooftop Cargo Box # Y43QD. I have used the SkyBox myself and I love it. Incredibly easy to install, easy to use, just a great experience overall. I have used a few others, and own a Thule, but the SkyBox has been my favorite.

For a roof rack I recommend the Yakima TimberLine Roof Rack for Raised Rails # Y42GD. This uses JetStream crossbars which are super quiet. Noise is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome with a roof rack so assuming you plan to keep it on your 2021 Ford Expedition Max all the time this is definitely the way to go. The other nice part about it is this rack uses the same SKS lock cores as the SkyBox. Once you get your SkyBox you can pick out lock cores that match for the roof rack so everything is keyed alike.
