Question:
Im trying to convert my torsion axle trailer to a tandem axle trailer. I want to use springs Tru42FR and a narrow equalizer. The tire size im using is 5.30-12 and i would like the tires closer then further away. Is there a simulator i can use to plug and play some equipment?

Hey George, what do you mean by narrow equalizer? What size equalizer do you have right now?
To convert your trailer's torsion axles to spring axles, you'd need to have new hangers welded on, leaf springs, and a new axle. For new hangers, you can use # APT8 which'll work best with axles that are rated between 2,000 and 7,000 lbs. For springs, you can use the # TRU42FR you were looking at with the U-bolt kit # APUBR-10.
Finally, for an axle, you're going to need to measure or know the distance between the hub face, as well as the wheel bolt pattern. For instance, if you measured 60" and your wheels have a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern, then the Dexter Trailer Idler Axle w/ Hubs # 20545I-EZ-60-15 would work great.
To bring your tires closer to your trailer, you'd just have to use a smaller width tire. So since you have 5.30-12 tires, which are 5.6" wide, you could use a 4.8-12 tire instead like # AM30590 which is 4.9" wide.
As far as a simulator goes, we unfortunately don't have something like that and I'm not aware of anything like that floating around. But, if there is anything else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!
