Does Using T in Lines Between Two Firestone Air Bags Allow Air to Move Out of One Bag Around Corners
Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/26/2025 >
Question:
Okay, Ill be adding these air helper springs to my 2023 Sienna, but whn I read the comments from others, it got my dander up. Why, because people do stupid stuff, mostly because they dont follow directions and they think they know better. The installation instructions from Firestone state that the fitting and the support plate go DOWN in the spring seat. Richard 3/17/24 whined about failures due to the support plate puncturing the air spring. Why? Because he installed the helpers with the air lines and the support donut UP! John L 12/9/2013 has pictures showing the same incorrect installation. Cal P. 3/9/2017 States that he put a T in the airline. That is BAD because that will make the vehicle lean more in turns as pressure from the bag on the ourside of the turn will transfer to the bag on the inside of the turn INCREASING vehicle lean and instability. As eTrailer is the seller, and legally would be considered the experts, you should add comments to these posts informing these customers of their mistakes. That gets you off the hook legallyinch in the case of a law suit, while at the same time is just the right thing to do. Thanks, GT

Hey Gerard, that's a really good point and I'm glad you noticed it haha. People do seem to like to install these kits upside down and we tell them all the time they have to follow instructions but we can't force them to do it the right way.
The only one I would disagree with is the T in the air line. Using that to inflate the bags to the same psi does not mean that the pressure would transfer to the other bag around corners as the bags don't expand when pressure is added to them. They just get harder.
