Troubleshooting a Dexter Brake Actuator After Replacing a Break Away Switch

Question:
I needed to replace the Switch, I have power coming back from my axillary but get no activation. Do I need the vehicle connected ? The Dexter unit is 2008 model.

Hey Alan. Not sure what you mean by auxiliary but you do not have to have your tow vehicle connected to test a Dexter brake actuator like item # K71-651. I have linked a screenshot I took from the instructions below on how to troubleshoot with just your trailer's breakaway battery.
