Question:

What/ why are these not suggested for enclosed utility trailers. No different than an RV.

Hay Paul, thanks for reaching out!

I believe the reason the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System # ADV82SR is listed as "not approved" for an enclosed utility trailer is just because those roofs typically aren't stronger like what we see with campers. If you add some framing into the top of your utility trailer so that the AC unit has enough support, I don't see why this couldn't be used in that manner.

We actually installed the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-06200K on a Ford Transit in the past and had to do a brand-new installation which included cutting and reinforcing a hole on the roof. You'll need to reinforce it a bit better than what we did for a simple vent, but this will at least give you an idea of what will need to be done. Check out the linked video to see this being done.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey Paul, how did things go with reinforcing the roof on your enclosed trailer for the Advent Air unit? Your results could really help others thinking about adding an RV-style AC to a similar setup.
