Should Tonneau Cover Be Close Before Or After Closing Tailgate?

Question:
I read a couple reviews saying the tonneau cover has to be closed after the tailgate therefore you cant just open and close the tailgate due to the way the seal isassuming the multipro tailgate would just cause it to fold the other way if the main gate closed and center closed afterwards. It looks to be flat and about 1long. Im wanting to know if the reviews are correct or would the seal flip the other way and still keep water out? My last tonneau cover had a round seal so it wasnt a issue

Hello Joshua, thanks for reaching out. The reviews you read for the TruXedo Pro X15 Soft Tonneau Cover # TX1473301 are correct. It is best to close the tailgate before you close the cover for the seal to sit correctly. We have not tested this with the multipro tailgate, but I do believe your assessment is correct.

Hey Joshua, how did things turn out with the TruXedo Pro X15 cover and your MultiPro tailgate? Did the seal behave the way you expected when closing the tailgate first? Your update could make it easier for others using the same setup.
