Why Would Lippert Hydraulic System Lower Jack Leg as Slide Out Comes Out
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/19/2025 >
Question:
Lippert Hydraluc Leveling System 2021 montana 3121rl. When extending a slide, the front left landing gear extends first to ground, then the slide begins to extend. The reverse happens when retracting the slides, the left front lands gear retracts. The land gear cartridge vale has been replaced. I tested the Selenoid when un-installed with power to +, - terminals. The magnet kicks in and holds a screw driver. Is an up side to the solenoid, the terminal plug is facing up, as it was before removed. If this is not the issue, why would fluid flow to tye landing gear when operating the slides.

I've seen people with this issue on forums and it doesn't seem like there's an easy fix. Seems like it's probably contamination related to the hydraulic system which is causing valves to stay open or allow hydraulic fluid blow by through lift cylinders that are supposed to be closed. One guy just had to have basically everything replaced.
Is this a new to you RV that's possibly still under warranty? Did problem always occur?

Hey, did you ever find out if contamination in the hydraulic system was the cause of the landing gear moving with the slide on your Montana? Knowing what you discovered could help others dealing with the same Lippert leveling setup.
