What TorkLift Tie Downs do I Need for My 2022 F-350, and What are the Weights?

Published 01/16/2025

Question:

I need to know what the weight of the frame and hitch mounted factory hitch truck camper mounts and locking fast guns weigh. I am trying to calculate the total weight of the camper and related equipment. I could not find this info on the website.

Hello Mike,

Sounds like you are getting things set up the right way and not going over your payload, I respect that. It looks like the weights are the same whether you have a 6 3/4' or 8' bed. If you happen to have an aftermarket hitch, please let me know.

If your F-350 is the standard 6 3/4' bed with factory installed hitch you will want part # TL34VV, for 8' bed # TL87DR

- Front tie downs: 43.65 pounds
- Rear tie downs: 32.01 pounds

The TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles for Frame-Mounted Tie-Downs - Stainless Steel - Black - Qty 4 # TLS9529-2-LK are an excellent option and are definitely my go to for recommending. The weight is just shy of 20 pounds.

The weights that are provided are off of our shipping weights, so they might be a hair more or a hair less.

Are you new to the slide in camper world? Do you know where you will be exploring for your first outing with the new camper? You will definitely not be disappointed with the Torklift tie downs, I would say they are in a league of their own when it comes to tie downs. I included a couple of videos for you to check out as well.

Thank you Kate, How much lighter are the aluminum framed mounts? My truck has the 8' bed. It has the factory hitch and factory running boards that do not extend past the cab. I have had a few truck campers over the years. Thanks, Mike

@MikeO My pleasure. For the aluminum you will want the # TL85SV for the 8 foot bed with factory hitch. Front Tie Downs: 36 pounds Rear Tie Downs: 27.99 pounds So if you go with the aluminum they will be about 10 pounds lighter. Please let me know if you need any other weights, or need any other information.
