Hey Keith,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I from the information you gave me you're either going to need to replace just the spindles or go ahead and replace your entire axle(s) setup on your trailer. The bearing combination you gave me doesn't exist anymore which is an unfortunate side-effect of older trailers. Back in the day there weren't any standards when it came to trailers so it's getting more and more difficult to get exact replacement parts.

If you let me know the hub face and spring seat distances on your current axle(s) along with the weight capacity per axle I can make a replacement recommendation. Otherwise, if you'd rather plan this out with someone in person then I recommend checking out our installer locator to see shops in your area who deal with axles on a regular basis.

How old is your trailer?

Unfortunately replacing the entire axle and spindles is probably not worth it. Its quite a bit different that anything I've seen. Do you have a hub with that same 5-4 1/2 lug pattern and .75 inch as the outer bearing and a larger size in the rear? I'm a machinist by trade so I can make a precise spacer to compensate for length with a step for the larger inner bearing.

@Keith I definitely understand not wanting to replace the axle or spindles. The LM11949 bearing has a 0.75" inner diameter so the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 # DX22XR could work in your scenario. I obviously can't say that it's safe to add a spacer, but if you're confident in your abilities, then feel free to make any adjustments you want. Th inner bearing has a 1.25" inner diameter so you're looking at something like a 0.50" spacer.
