Can the I Use the Yakima EXO System on the Back of My 2024 Leisure Travel Van?

Question:

I have a 2024 Leisure Travel Van Unity built on the MB 3500 chassis. Will the Yakima Exo system work on this 2inch receiver? Should I also install a u-bolt stabilizer? Thanks

Hello Daren,

That is a great question, and one we still have not been able to answer directly. Can you please measure from your back axle to the hitch pin hole on your receiver on your hitch? Once I get that measurement from you I will be able to tell you if you can use the EXO system or not. If we had a Sprinter 3500 out in the parking lot right now I would tromp through the snow myself to get it for you.

In reply to your question, the length from the back axe to the pin hole is about 80 inches. I would like to get the Yakima EXO, but an also looking at the LetsGoAero products. Thanks!

@Daren Thanks for getting me that measurement Daren. Yakima considers a vehicle a motorhome if the measurement from the axle to the hitch pin hole is 72" or more. With yours being around 80" I cannot recommend using the Yakima EXO system because it is not rated for motorhomes, and if you something were to happen it would void your warranty. So it looks like your best options is going to be the Let's Go Aero. The GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitch - Slide Out - 34 cu ft - 300 lbs - Dark Gray # HGK819, or I really like it in the light gray # HGK826 is a great option for a cargo carrier and it is RV/Motorhome rated. The inside dimensions are 63" long x 28" wide x 40" tall. What I really like about their cargo carrier is that it already comes with the blinkers on them, you just have to plug in a 4 flat. It you do not have a 4-flat back there, please let me know what you do have for wiring so I can get you the right adapter. The Lets Go Aero V-Lectric VFR Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # LGA25VR would be a great bike rack that is also rated for rv/motorhomes. It will actually work with all different kind of bikes, even the heavy electric ones as it is rated at 80 pounds per bike, one of our highest rated bike racks. I included a couple of review videos for you to check out. There are so many different things that can be added to the EXO system, I only listed the most popular with the Let's Go Aero brand. What exactly were your favorite things for the EXO system?
