Does Installing Go Power Expansion Solar Panel Require Adding Additional Fuse

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/01/2024

Question:

I currently have one of these panel on the roof of my new RV and Id like to add a second. I know my charge controller is large enough. The question is: will I have to add inline fuses to each of the panels if I wire them in parallel? I can not fined the maximum series fuse rating or the short circuit amp rating for these panels so I can do the calculation myself. My gut is tell me that fuses are needed but I like to have the specs to verify my hunch. Thanks, Chris

Hey Chris, while normally you would need to consider adding a fuse or changing fuse size when adding a panel the Go Power Overlander Expansion part # 34282182 comes with everything needed and does not require an additional fuse be used.

Hey Chris, how did things go adding the second Go Power solar panel to your RV? Did the expansion kit work smoothly without needing extra fuses? Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar setup.
