Recommended Solar Set Up for a 2,000 Watt System

Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/21/2024

Question:

I have a 2024 Starcraft gsl 274bhs, Made by Jayco. It comes with a single 200w solar panel factory installed. It doesnt seem to do much... I believe I found paperwork that says it also has a go power 1600w inverter from the factory. It also currently has 2 lead acid deep cell batteries, Im unsure of the size at this moment. Ive been looking at purchasing this 34282185 and the AE-6 1200w system or 2 600w overlander bundles, and was considering putting 4 eco-worthy LiFeO4 12.8v 280ah lithium batteries in series to give me 12.8v 1120ah of stored power. With that said, I was considering adding a total of 9 additional panels to the roof to give me a whopping 2000w of solar on the roof. Which way would you recommend going with to add to the Go Power Solar Extreme Charging System? What other pieces would you think would be needed for this installation?

Hey Brian! The Go Power Solar Extreme Charging System item # 34282185 has all the controllers and everything you need. You'll just want to purchase six of the Go Power Overlander Expansion Kit - 200 Watt Solar Panel item # 34282182 to expand it's capacity. This set up combined with your existing panel will get you to your 2,000 watt goal.

Hey Brian, how did things turn out with the Go Power Solar Extreme system and the six Overlander expansion kits? Did the setup get you the solar output you were aiming for on your Starcraft? Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar upgrade.
