Question:
I have a 2001 f250 short bed that has been converted to a flatbed truck with gooseneck. Because it’s a short bed I am trying to find a “flatbed fifth wheel hitch SLIDER” I can find regular gooseneck to fifth wheel flatbed non-slider, but I n ed the slider option if such a thing exists for flatbed trucks. Thanks in advance!

Hey David! Sorry to say but unless your flatbed truck has the B&W item # BWGNRK1500 and it's not in a recessed well, the only options I have for a gooseneck connected 5th wheel hitch are the Demco Recon item # DM8550045 or item # DM93YV. They just do not make sliding 5th wheel hitches that attach to gooseneck balls.
The square receiver on the B&W item # BWGNRK1500 would allow you to attach the B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400 if it was installed flush to your flatbed. It won't work in a recessed well.
The Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter item # DM8550045 attaches to standard flush gooseneck balls. and the Demco Recon item # DM93YV is what you would need for a recessed gooseneck well.
The only other option I have to get you some extra turning clearance is to use the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter item # AM3139. This adapter attaches to your trailer's kingpin and gives you a 8" offset that will connect to your gooseneck hitch. If the gooseneck ball on your truck is recessed you will just need to make sure it has at least 5-5/8" centered around the base of the ball for this to properly attach.

Hey David, did you end up finding a setup that worked for your flatbed F-250? Knowing which option gave you the turning clearance you needed could really help others with short-bed flatbeds.
