Can Gooseneck Adapter Be Used With Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box?

Question:

I read on your page that a goose neck adapter should not be used on this king pin assembly Rotaflex kingpin 1621. Is there a particular reason why? Thanks

A gooseneck adapter cannot be used with the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box - Lippert 1621 - 21,000 lbs # LC328329 because of the excess play and movement that would be present at the connection point. You would instead need to swap out your setup for a gooseneck setup.

What if you were to use the Anderson rota-flex lock out kit and pair it with a gooseneck conversion?(like the Anderson ranch hitch adapter or the one by T-built)… From my understanding the lockout kit is supposed to prevent the movement, wouldn’t that make it safe to use with a gooseneck adapter?

@JaidenB No adapters can be used to convert the Rota-Flex 5th wheel to a gooseneck. However, you can convert your truck's gooseneck hitch to a 5th wheel hitch with Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel # DM8550045 or if your gooseneck ball is recessed, use # DM8550046 instead.
