Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover # STC-V211 Recommendation for a 25 ft Travel Trailer
Published 05/30/2014 >
Question:
I am in the market for a dolly to move our travel trailer into its parking space and also to deliver it to the hitch ball on my truck. The STC-V211 looks like it might work marginally, but it seems that I will need a heavier duty unit for our 25foot travel trailer. The tongue weight is under 500# and the overall weight is about 5000# with our gear and some water on board. Our parking area has a very slight grade and it is mostly concrete, but part of the area is concrete pavers. I have one slight lip at the rolling gate to navigate over. Do you really think this device is heavy duty enough to handle a 5000# trailer? Are you in the process of developing a more robust unit? My next step to to take the giant financial leap to a Powermover electric dolly. Those bad boys cost about $1200. It seems to me that there should be a viable solution between your device and going all the way to a Powermover. Please me out with this. Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
As long as your trailer tongue weight is less than 500 lbs and the grade you plan on using the Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover # STC-V211 isn't too steep you should be totally fine to use this product. We have several customers who used this product on heavier trailers like yours and reported back that it made easier work of moving their trailer than they expected. Some even compared this product to the more expensive units you mentioned.
