Question:

Hello, We bought a TH620001 awning for our 22 Promaster high roof, and now want to get the appropriate tent and whatever accessories are needed. Tension rod, hanging rail? Can you assist? I am concerned about the height of panels. Info states max height is 8’, and our awning sits slightly above 8’. Are the ground rain flaps included in the measurements?

Hello Rita.

The Thule HideAway QuickFit Tent - 8-1/2' Long - 7' 4" to 8' Mount Height # TH307056 would NOT be a good fit if your awning is over 8 feet because it would leave you a gap, I double checked with my contact at Thule.

I am not sure how much over the 8 feet you are, we do have the Thule HideAway QuickFit Tent - 9' 10" Long - 7' 6" to 8' 2" Mount Height # TH307060 this mounts up to 8 feet 2 inches and it also will work with the Thule HideAway Awning for ProMaster or Sprinter - Roof Mount - 8' Long x 10' 8" Wide # TH620001. All the parts would be included to install the tent to your awning. Thule does not have the the height of the actual tent listed, they just got off of the mounting height.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if the height measurements are from the vehicle side? Have pictures of front and back, that are different. Have viewed videos, but perhaps we do not understand how it is attached? Still very interested in the tent. What is the return cost to us if it really doesn’t work?

Also, in the instruction manual linked below, it shows the tension rafter and tie downs are optional, but instructions repeatedly indicate usage. The illustrations (none of these looks correct to our model.) show an awning fixation kit, that is not listed on parts page. Please advise.

@RitaE The measurement is from the ground to the underside of the awning housing (please make sure to measure on level ground). If you would like to add a tension bar to the awning for more support you need the Tension Rafter for Thule Hideaway Awnings - Qty 1 # TH307310. To secure it even more you could also add the Hold Down Side Strap Kit for Thule HideAway Awnings - 10' Straps # TH307916. I confirmed with Thule that this is all the parts that would be needed. Everything else for installation comes with the tent. If you were to order these parts and for some reason they did not work, etrailer would cover the return shipping (within 30 days) and issue a full refund because I recommended these parts to you. After reaching out and confirming this set up with Thule, I am confident you will have zero issues with the fitment.
