thank you for the quick reply. 40# is more than i hoped, thinking it had mostly aluminum construction. y car is used for track events so i do not want to add weight up high in the rear of the car. i do not intend to tow a trailer. i only plan to use a bicycle carrier on occasion and i already own a hitch mount carrier. thanks again for confirming the weight.
