Does There Need to be Resistance with Levers of Demco Rail Kit Adapter part # DM6333

Published 10/10/2024

Question:

Just put a demco 6333 adapter plate in my 2025 gmc 3500 hd. Looks like it is made so that the latching housings sit on the 4 mounting locations and the plate bottom / rails is actually about 7/8” above the truck bed and not in contact with the truck bed. Is that correct? When turning the latching levers 2 show slight resistance and two swing pretty free. Should they be adjusted to show a little resistance? Thanks

Hey Fred, with the Demco adapter plate part # DM6333 it's not necessary for there to be resistance in the levers as you turn them to secure it to your truck's puck kit. As long as they turn all the way and can be locked in that position everything is totally fine.

What about the first part ofmy previous questions regarding the gap between the underside of the bottom plate and the box surface?

@JamesonC That's totally fine. It doesn't need to rest on the bed at all as it's supported by the pucks and the bracing of the adapter. Sorry I missed that.
