Hello Jerry, thanks for reaching out. We do offer a hitch extender that will work with your class 4 hitch, such as the Gen-Y Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches # GY89SR. The big downside of using a hitch extender is that it decreases the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50%. So if your class 4 hitch for example is rated for 12,000 lbs, the hitch extender will reduce that capacity to 6,000 lbs. This will only be an option for you if your class 4 hitch is rated for like 15,000 lbs or more. Generally, I try to avoid using hitch extensions unless there is no other choice and it is absolutely necessary.

Hey Jerry, how did things go with the Gen-Y hitch extender on your travel trailer? Did the reduced tongue weight end up being an issue with your setup? Your feedback could help others deciding whether to use an extender for a similar load.
