Question:
Can the Blue Ox Sway Pro brackets be used on a box frame vs. a C channel frame? I am concerned that the bolts on the brackets will dig in to the box frame.

Hey Brian,
The frame brackets # BXW4010 for the Blue Ox SwayPro weight distribution hitch are designed to work with a box frame style and would clamp down onto the frame, but wouldn't damage it. These bolts are only being tightened to 40ft/lbs, which is basically just hand tight, so it will pinch into the frame but wouldn't be enough to actually cause any damage. You'd really only see the paint peeling where the bracket bolt contacts the frame and even then that's only when you remove the bracket.

Hey Brian, how did things turn out using the Blue Ox SwayPro brackets on your box frame? Did the clamping pressure stay light enough to avoid any frame damage? Your feedback could really help others setting up the same hitch.
