Replacement Options For A Sharp R1880LS RV Convection Microwave Oven

Question:
Have discontinued Sharp R 1880LS NEEDS REPLACEMENT. Sharp says R 1874 should replace. Do you concur and carry? Can the High Pointe HP 94ZR be mounted to back wall of rv. Current microwave not mounted in cabinet. nor below cabinet. Also need internal exhaust. Thin cabinet wall to left of microwave opening and thin frig wall on right of microwave opening. My informal external measurements are W 29.5, D 15, H 15.5. Thanks for advice.

Hi Susan,
The High Pointe Over the Range RV Convection Microwave # HP94ZR is 29-15/16" wide x 15-11/16" tall x 15" deep so it wouldn't likely be a fit for your space since your current microwave looks like it's right against that wall. I looked up the dimensions of the R1874 and it's showing as 29.9" x 16.3" x 15.3" so I'm unsure if that would work either. I would remeasure the space to see if either of these will fit.
If they do fit the High Pointe # HP94ZR would vent internally or could be setup to vent externally, but that requires modification to microwave. It would also be able to mount to the exterior wall just like your Sharp.

Hi Susan, did remeasuring your space help you figure out if the High Pointe microwave or the Sharp model would fit better? Once you found the right size, it would be great to know which one ended up working for your RV setup. Your update could make it easier for others with tight wall clearances.
