Info Needed to Replace Leaf Springs for 2024 Brinkley Z3400

Updated 10/02/2024 | Published 09/27/2024

Question:

I have a 2024 Brinkley Z3400 that has a GVWR of 16,696 Factory. We recently hit some potholes and lost 4 of the 7 leaves on a set of leaf springs on a rear axle. I have been looking at several options and I know some will work great with lighter 5th wheels and campers, but I’m not sure of them with my weight rating. Our 5th wheel came with Road Armor equalizers, 8k axles and 4k springs. Im looking at a lot of options including MorRyde IS, Road Master Comfort Ride, Lippert Center Point, etc. Please help with some expert knowledge and advice. Only 1 pic would upload!

Hey Avery, so we really need to know the axle capacity of your Brinkley to pick out replacement leaf springs. Since you are under the trailer in your picture what you'll want to do is get back to the spot and then look on the axles for a tag that will have it's weight capacity listed. The other piece of info needed is the length of the springs from the eye center to eye center.

My springs are Curt with a Lippert part # 2021095282 4k. The axles are 8k. I tried to attach pictures on the original question, but it would only let me upload one pic.

@Avery7 Thanks for getting me that info. So you need an 8k axle rated leaf spring that is 26 inches in long. We don't have exactly that though. We have the part # DX74XR which is correct axle rating but it is 24-7/8 inches long. So you could potentially use these but you'd have to move your hangers which is probably more work than you want to do. Ideally you find the correct length and capacity probably somewhere else.

@JamesonC so you’re stating that the options including MorRyde IS, Road Master Comfort Ride, Lippert Center Point, etc are not good choices for an upgrade and I should just get the appropriate springs?

@Avery7 Actually no the best option would be the Roadmaster Comfort Ride kit part # RM-2460-2580. I forgot you asked about that as an option.
