Will The Hopkins EasyLift Tailgate Lift Assist Fit A 2012 Ford F-250

Question:

Hello, A different website says this product is a universal fit, another doesnt mention fitment at all, and your website lists specific years and makes - all pertaining to the same Hopkins EasyLift part. Do you have more detailed information from the manufacturer regarding the fit? Or is it possible there is updated information to be had? I am looking for an option to help with lifting the tailgate on my Ford 2012 F-250. The DeeZee easy lift helps lower but not lift. Thank you for your response!

Hey Julie,

The Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist # 74211 is a universal fit but does require drilling in order to install. Our fitguide setup is a little goofy some times which is why you might see this part listed as a fit for some vehicles and not for others. This is just a torsion bar that will bend as you open the tailgate and will try to return to it's natural state, giving the tailgate some resistance so that it lowers slowly and lifts easier. This part really isn't tested anymore for fitment so you'd likely only be able to get some info out of the manufacturer Hopkins MFG. if they're still testing it on vehicles.
