Recommended Adapter for a Portable Power Watchdog Surge Protector To Plug Into a Residential Outlet

Updated 09/12/2024 | Published 09/06/2024

Question:

Ive read some comments suggesting this unit throws an open neutral error on a residential 15/20a circuit and that a special adapter is needed. if this is true, do you have that part?

You're definitely going to need an adapter if you're planning on plugging the 50 amp Portable Power Watchdog Surge Protector item # HU87FR into a residential 15/20amp circuit.

For a 15 amp circuit you would need to use the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter item # A10-1550.

For a 20 amp circuit will need two separate adapters because we do not have one 50 to 20 amp adapter. The first part you will want is the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter Plug - 50 Amp Male to 30 Amp Female - Detachable item # A10-5030DAVP. Then you will use the Mighty Cord Generator Adapter Y-Cord - 30 Amp to 20 Amp item # A10-G3020Y.
