Power watchdog surge protector looks to be a quality product. I like the bluetooth aspect to the product too. Etrailer does a great job of getting the product shipped and you informed on the delivery time. Anything to do with towing or trailers I check with etrailer first.
The good news is we haven't had an incident to put the unit to the test. Even so, it's peace of mind having it in use, and being able to monitor usage makes hooking our 50 amp R to a 30 amp service easy without popping breakers.
I purchased this Surge Protector about a year ago and it has provided excellent service each and every time. It is built very sturdy and provides needed piece of mind that your RV won't suffer a catastrophic electrical event in the form of a power surge, while also informing you if your electric supply is up to par.
This has really helped me manage my energy using the Bluetooth data to the app, especially when we plug in to 15 amp driveway power. The indicator lights on the unit give me instant test of campground wiring before I plug in the coach. And it has a replaceable surge protection module.

I was debating with myself about portable versus an installed unit on the Rv and decided to go portable. I like how I can get to a campground and immediately know if the power is good before hooking up the Rv. I could do this with the installed unit but the portable unit seems more adept at this. Also like having surge protector with all the lightning storms going thru FL recently.

We have a horrible electric setup at our campground . Power surges spikes etc. Blew our inverters well. Bought this to help stop damage in the future . So far it's worked. Had 2 more surges since I installed it. Saved me time money and aggravation. Well worth the money

Before buying this watchdog power suppressor, I never "experienced" or expected that a power pole at campgrounds were defective. Boy was I wrong!
During a month-long 5000 mile road trip, we camped at no less than eight campgrounds with 30A and 50A power poles. At two of these campgrounds, I used the watchdog to confirm proper and safe power was available. It was not, and we had to immediately demand the campgrounds repair the outlets or rebook us into a different site.
Just to make it absolutely clear, power "was" available, on one or both outlets, BUT, the ground was faulty. As we were camping in 90F+ temps, the AC was critical and sleep time with AC running had to be 100% safe and effective power.
This device may be pricey, BUT, it saved us from two very unsafe situations, a long way from home! If you are seeking to save a penny or two, good luck! This product is 100% WORTH THE PRICE for safe and proper power for your RV!!!

I'm so glad that you got the Watchdog when you did! I always say that it's better safe than sorry when it comes to safety.
About a year ago you purchased a Hughes Autoformers Power Watchdog Surge RV Surge Protector. I purchased this a year ago and have used it many times with no problems. My brothers recommend I get this and the water regulator to protect my new travel trailer.

I like this surge protector. I can watch in real time what voltage, watts, and ampere readings on my smart phone.

We have been using the 30A version with our 50A trailer using a dog bone adapter for two years (previously had a 30a trailer for 3 years). During this time we had to monitor our usage to make sure we didn’t go over. We have now been using the 50A version on our first week long outing of the season and I should have gotten the 50A right away rather than stretching the use of the 30A surge protector. Works great, one of those purchases that goes unnoticed until you need it. Some strong storms may be rolling in as I type this so the surge may come in handy.
The app works great and really like that the 50A version shows you your consumption on both legs of the circuit. Also helps you understand which outlets are on which branch by tuning things on/off. Overall, a great unit for the price and gives peace of mind when plugging your camper into the power pedestal.
Shipping (USPS) was slower than expected, 2 days later than expected which had me a bit nervous as it came the day before we left. We have been having this issue with USPS on other shipments from other companies as well.

A year later still going strong. Unit stays plugged in at my house and when we’re on the road. So all year long. Haven’t had a bit of trouble with it.
