Question:
Hello, I’m looking for a torsion hitch for my stock 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD, I’ll be pulling a steel trailer rated for 17,600 carrying a 9500lb skid loader, I’m thinking the Gen Y brand, but trying to figure out which hitch to purchase. The trailer is a tilt bed Midsota

Hey Steve,
Assuming that 17,600lb capacity is your trailer's GVWR you would be able to go with a 21k capacity ball mount from Gen-Y. You'll just want to determine how much of a rise/drop that you'll need to accommodate your trailer. To determine the correct rise/drop you'll need to measure from the ground up to the top of the inside of the trailer hitch receiver tube and from the ground up to the bottom of the trailer coupler while level.
For a 2-1/2" shank and 21k capacity we offer six different options:
3" Rise/6" Drop # 325-GH-1324
3" Rise/9" Drop # 325-GH-1325
3" Rise/12" Drop # 325-GH-1326
15" Rise/Drop # 325-GH-1524
18" Rise/Drop # 325-GH-1525
21" Rise/Drop # 325-GH-1526
If these don't work for you then let me know and I can find something that fits your setup better.

Ok, I’ve got 22” from the ground to the top of the receiver and from the ground to the bottom of the hitch is 17 1/4”, which hitch does that translate to?
