Updated 10/14/2024 | Published 09/02/2024

Question:

I have a 2018 Keystone Carbon 347 5th wheel toy hauler. 39 I am looking for the correct kit for Equaflex equalizer replacement with wet shackle bolts for tandem axle installation. All Leaf spring shackle bolts included. Are any additional bushings needed for all connection points?

Hey Rick, it looks like your 2018 Keystone Carbon TT Toy Hauler has tandem 6k axles which would mean that the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC145546 is the correct kit.

As far as shackles go, you'd need to measure your current shackle and pick a kit that matches. So for instance, if you measured 3 1/8" long, then the Lippert Tandem Axle Equa-Flex AP Kit # LC64FR is what you'd need.

If your shackle bolts measure something different, let me know what that is and I'll see what we have.

I was about to do the install of my new wet shackle bolts and replace my Equaflex stabilizers. Looking in the box I don't see bushings. Don't new bushings come with the bolt set? What bushings do I need, I am assuming bronze bushings. Enough for 2 axles. Second question, It looks like the bolts in the new Equaflex stabilizers are not wet bolts. Isn't that a problem if I can't keep these bolts greased also? Thanks, Rick

@Rick Rick, bushings are not included with # LC64FR so you'd need to use the Dexter Bronze Bushings # K71-291-00. Also, both the Lippert # LC64FR and # LC145546 use wet bolts, and they are included.

One last question, All the videos I see short the Zerc fitting on the way bolt facing the underside of the trailer? Why would I do that? Wouldn't I want the Zerc fitting facing outward for easy greasing of the bolts? What are your thoughts? Rick

@Rick I'm not sure why Rick, but I personally would install the grease zerks facing outward so you can easily grease the bolt.
