How To Keep The etrailer Boat Trailer Jack MJ-1500B-DWL from Rusting
Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 08/21/2024 >
Question:
I love my new trailer jack but would like to introduce grease to it to keep it lubricated as it gets dunked in the ocean often at the boat ramp. Looking for some guidance on how to keep it clean and free of rust from salt water. My last jack I was able to grease the top end with a grease gun but I didnt seen a nipple to connect it?

Hello Brooks. The etrailer Boat Trailer Jack # MJ-1500B-DWL does not have a zerk fitting for adding grease. The best way to keep rust at bay is to keep the jack clean and dry. Rinse it with fresh water after dunking it in the salt, and do your best to get it dry and keep it dry when in storage.

Hey Brooks, how has the boat trailer jack been holding up after you started rinsing it with fresh water after each use? Your experience could help others who launch in salt water keep their jacks in better shape.
