Which Weight Distribution Shank for 24 Inch Receiver Height and 17 Inch Coupler Height
Question:
i have a 2010 suburban and a 2011 shadow cruiser 29ft travel trailer. i use a weight distribution hitch. the receiver measures 24in to the top. and the trailer measures 17in to the bottom of the ball connection.. i believe i need a 7 in . what do i need?

Ideally, you'll want your weight distribution head to sit about 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches higher than the level coupler height of the trailer to compensate for trailer squat.
Since the difference in your coupler and receiver height is 7 inches, I'd recommend you go with a shank that offers at least a 6 inch drop, like the Curt # C17121. This would put your trailer ball about 1 inch above level, which would be absolutely perfect.
