Looking For Angle Braces For Welding To Inside Of Hangers For Additional Strength

Updated 01/20/2026 | Published 08/11/2024

Question:

Do you have angle braces that can be welded inside the hanger and to the frame to give the hanger additional strength. My center hanger from forest river has an angle inside but the front and back do not and I would like to add.

Hello Pat. We actually used to sell an angled brace from Lippert but it has been discontinued for quite some time. We do not carry one at this time but it was literally just a piece of angled steel. It might not be too hard to make one or find a similar piece of steel that could be used for a brace. I have included some specs from the old Lippert brace I mentioned if you want to take a look and see how you feel about making one.

Hey Pat, were you able to make or find a piece of angled steel to use as a brace for your hangers? Knowing what worked could help others looking to add strength to their trailer setup.

@JesseM, I bought 1/8" steel, cut it to size and used it as outside cover caps as opposed to the angle inside the hangers.

@PatM Nice work! Glad to hear you were able to come up with something that did the trick. Thanks for taking the time to share!
