What Are Rubber and Plastic Pieces for That Are Shipped Inside Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbars

Inside the crossbars is a plastic piece that slides apart and one of the pieces has measurements on it. I cant figure out what these are for. Theyre in the channel that the rubber strips snap into.

Thanks for reaching out about the Rhino-Rack Kit # RRVA180B-RRRLT600, Eric!

The rubber strips will go into the top channel while the plastic pieces with measurements will go in the bottom channel. The strips have the measurements on them so it's easier to be more exact in how the crossbars mount to the legs.

Attached is a photo that demonstrates both.
