Why Wouldn't Curt Hitch for 2000 Toyota Tundra Have Mounting Holes Line Up

Updated 08/06/2024 | Published 08/05/2024

Question:

I ordered this hitch to replace my factory one on my 2000 tundra sr5 trd off road. It was several inches off and was clear that it wasn’t going to fit. What other options do I have?

Hey Oliver, so the Curt hitch part # 13184 is listed as a fit for your 2000 Toyota Tundra but what most likely happened is that it got bent in shipping just looking at the mounting flange design and how often this happens. You can try again with a new hitch or if you still have this you can try bending it back to get it to fit. You can use an open stairwell for leverage or sometimes a floor jack can be helpful.

No it’s not bent. I’ve read the reviews and have concluded it’s not bent. It’s off by like 4 inches.

@OliverD Yeah 4 inches is way off. Is it possible you need the version for the trucks without the towable bumper which is part # C13180.
