Need To Replace Wet Bolts And Bushings From MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit

Question:

I have a Morryde CRE3000 suspension 2 1/4 Shackle, I bought 5th wheel used dont think it got greased want to replace bolts and bushings, pulled bolt out of leaf spring and bushing was gone, do I need part MR86ZR?

Hello Jim; yes, the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR86ZR is actually what you will need to replace your bolts and shackles. The # MR38ZR kit you mentioned does come with the same components, but this kit comes with longer bolts for the correct track system, so you would be paying extra for parts you wouldn't need. This # MR86ZR kit comes with the shackles too, even if yours are still in good shape I do recommend replacing them with new. I know you may not need the shackles, but it will be much more affordable to just buy the whole kit rather than buy individual components.

Hey Jim, how did things go with the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit you used on your 5th wheel? Did the new bolts and shackles fit well with your CRE3000 setup? Your update could make it easier for others working on the same suspension.

Everything worked as expected on my upgrade kit, I replaced the originals and for some reason they must have not been greased from the previous owner and we’re all worn out and shot. After running the unit for two years now, everything is holding up well taking grease and the bushings looking in good shape.

@Jim Awesome glad to hear the all the suspension upgrades are working out! It is definitely important to keep the wet bolts and bronze bushings greased. Without grease they will end up getting ruined pretty quickly. Keep them greased and they can last the lifetime of the trailer easily. Thanks again for taking the time to share!
