Question:
Is there a difference between this brake set and the Dexter T4489600-500 brake set?

Expert Reply:
The main difference is brand. The # T4489600-500 is Made by Dexter here in the USA, while the # AKFBBRK-7-D is made by etrailer overseas. Both will work with the same hubs, and the same axles.
Dexter also uses the Galphorite coating on those brakes which has a slightly higher salt-spray rating compared to the dacromet our brakes use, but its not really a noticable difference, as if you're actually going in salt water you should be going with galvanized brakes.
