Question:
Hello, Im contemplating this Curt Spectrum Brake controller for my 2006 Ford E350 Super Duty van basic trim with 6.0 Diesel. I would like to know how to determine if my vehicle has factory wiring for a controller, and how I could locate the connector and what it looks like so I can confirm its actually installed. Also on the hitch end of the harness if it is in the van, is a breakout available from Etrailer from the factory wiring to a 7 pin? Finally where should I look for the van hitch end connector and what would that look like? What is included and what would I have to buy. If ordered on the 24th, when would I expect it would get to me? Thank you.

Hey Nathaniel, we can definitely help you install the Curt Spectrum Brake Controller part # C72SV in your 2006 Ford F-350 but if you don't have the factory 7-way you wouldn't have the factory tow package so you would need to hardwire this controller in.
If you don't have a 4-way you'd need to start with that with the part # C56020 and then to convert to a 7-way so that you can wire in a brake controller you'd also need the part # ETBC7 which comes with everything needed to also wire in a brake controller.

Hello Jameson, Thank you for the response, as far as I know the vehicle does not have a tow package, and as confirmation of that it has a Uhaul labeled hitch installed. From your reply I'm understanding that if it does not have a tow package then the vehicle harness would not be factory wired with a connector under the dash for a controller? Is the mating connector for the controller available separately from the installation kit? Long story short I do have some existing wiring, and in this case it would be better off to buy the controller and mating connector only and make the rest from scratch.
