Can Curt Ball Mount Be Flipped Over To Achieve A Raise In Height
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/19/2024 >
Question:
Hello, I have the Curt 2” hitch with 2” ball. Is it safe to flip the mount and remove and reinstall the ball to achieve a raise? Will the tow capacities of the mount be the same either way? Thanks!

Hi Mike; yes, a Curt ball mount like the # C45056 can be flipped over. This is considered the rise position and will not impact the capacity in any way. I attached a picture below which shows the ball mount in both orientations, both are acceptable. Your ball mount will actually have a rise measurement as shown below which can be used to help determine if it will keep your trailer level.
