Question:

I’m trying to find out what trailer brake assembly I need for 5.2k to 7k axle 3 inch diameter, and the mounting flange bolts measure 3 1/4 by 2 3/4. Uses a 12 inch drum

Most trailer brakes for 5.2K to 7K axles are going to use a 5 Bolt Flange # 4-44-1 like that which is found on the etrailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA. We do have the Dexter Brakes # 23-105-106-09 which also has a 4 bolt flange but the dimensions are slightly different than what you mentioned. These bolts are not a perfect square with the lower holes spread 2-1/2" on center, upper holes spread 3-1/8" on center and the holes vertically spread 3-3/8" on center.

The 5 bolt flange also does not have an equal spread so I have included an image with these hole dimensions.

Thank you for that info, but that is the jist of what I’m looking for, a 4 bolt square pattern that measures 3 1/4 inches by 2 3/4inches on the brake assembly to mount on the axle. I could try just repairing the old current ones I have but I’d need maybe a new magnet, an adjuster, new shoes, and maybe new springs, not sure. How I upload a photo to this message board to show you please?

@Jon Currently we do not have an option for you to upload images in the comments, but you can reply to the email you get for either the answer or comment with your images and I will get it. I was afraid these options would not work for you. It might be best to have the Flange # 4-44-1 replaced on your axle so then you will have the most commonly used bolt pattern.
