Will Advent Air Conditioner 6-Pin Connector Fit In Place of GE AC Model ARC13AACBL2

Question:

I’m replacing a GE a/c model ARC13AACBL2. Will this be plug and play or do I need to get the wiring harness adapter? Will the freeze sensor still work with this unit? Thank you

Hey Randall, thanks for reaching out!

It looks like your GE a/c model ARC13AACBL2 has the same type of 6-Pin connector as the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135, but I'm not entirely sure if the pinout is the same or not.

I was able to get a copy of the Advent 6-Pin Pinout which I'm linking for your reference. If the Advent connector doesn't match or is pinned differently, you can use the diagram to help you get everything lined up correctly.

I found the diagram for GE (cool only) Page 21 of the GE Manual - https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--XC0RfNvs--/fsa8vwx8mhjfeukikazg.pdf It looks like the wires are the same job just different colors for fan. #1 pin is black compressor #2 pin is orange high fan #3 pin is yellow med fan #4 pin is red high fan #5 pin is white neutral comp #6 is green (ground)

@JonG Youre welcome- i bought the Advent top to connect to GE lower. Should arrive this week. Hoping it matches up with dist. After GE top failing twice I am desperate- hoping this does the trick. Those GE’s are Junk

@JonG Well I finally got a chance to change out my GE (Model ARC15AACWH2) top half for the Advent Low Profile 15000 Btu Top purchased from e-trailer. The unit plugged right in (6 pin connector) and powered up. Initially I was getting a F1 error on the GE thermostat with the Advent connected- I needed to steal the temp sensor from the old GE (The Advent did not come with the one, but has a easy blue mount bracket on the coils to place it). Once I hooked that up everything ran as it should Fan speeds and Compressor all worked just fine. THE ONE thing that is different that needs to be ordered are the four (4) 1/4 x20 x 8 inch mounting bolts. The GE system uses a thicker bolt (maybe a 5/16?). Anyway I was able to order the bolts cheap from ebay (they are the same as the Coleman Mach bolts, 1/4 in. 20 thread about 8 inches long). Now everything is mounting perfect and works fine. I am disappointed I thought the Advent Low profile came with a soft start like the normal version does but I must have got confused when I ordered- that would have been a nice add on. Anyway. Despite the wires being different colors, the need to keep your temp sensor, and changing out for the 1/4 bolts, the Advent was a perfect replacement for my broken GE (this was the 2nd GE I've had in 4 years, they leak out their 410a after about 5 uses).
