Can a Solar Charger Be Connected to a Breakaway Battery To Maintain The Battery Charge?

Can I add a solar charger in addition to the charger that comes with it? For when it sits for extented periods of time. Will the test button still work to show if battery is charged if I only hook up the solar charger? Does this or a different breakaway battery have connections that will allow solar connection to be screwed and or fastened to the battery vs alligator clips?

The solar panel will help to maintain battery power when not used for long periods of time. It has eyelet terminals to connect to the charge line in your junction box.
