Can I Leave the Thule Roof Rack part # TH7502-TH7502 on the Rails of my 2014 Jeep Latitude

Question:

2014 Jeep Latitude. Why does the installation booklet say remove cross rails when not in use? I did not buy this product with the understanding that i have to put on and remove every time i need the cross rails. What would happen if i left the cross rails on when not in use?

Thule recommends you remove your crossbars when not in use to help you maximize your fuel mileage and to minimize wear and tear on the rack. Crossbars can also create a little noise at highway speeds so having them off would ensure you the quietest ride possible with the best possible fuel mileage. I spoke to my contact at Thule and she informed me that you can leave the rack on as long as you want.

However, if you wanted to leave the Thule Roof Rack part # TH7502-TH7502 on your raised rails there's no reason beyond those that I mentioned that would prevent you from doing so.
