When Should Trailer Tires Be Replaced

Updated 06/06/2024 | Published 05/31/2024

Question:

I have a TT with Goodyear Endurance tires. These tires are 3 years old with approximately 5000 miles on them. They still look great. How many years is it ok to run them at low mileage?

Trailer tires like the # LH53FR should be replaced every 3-6 years or every 10,000-12,000 miles. As long as they appear to be in good shape I would say it is probably safe to run them. However, the biggest problem for trailer tires is typically that they aren't doing anything. Keep an eye out for flat spots and signs of dry rot.

If you don't already have them I recommend adding TMPS sensors like the TireMinder i10 TPMS # TM89FR. These will help you monitor the tire pressure and temperature of your tires so you can hopefully identify any potential problems before they become worse.
