How to Pick Out Replacement Hubs for a 6k Dexter Axle

Question:
i have a 6000# dexter axel with 12x2 shoes can i upgrade to a 7000# 12x2 brake assembly? its a 12,000# car trailer loaded with full toolboxes golf cart and a car. appreciate all your help.

You can switch your hub and drums to a higher rated setup, its just a matter of finding the correct hub to fit the spindle on your trailer. The only way to do that is to pull your current hubs, pull out both of the bearings and get the numbers stamped on them so we can determine what spindles you have to get a hub that will match. Check out the picture I attached that shows where these numbers are.
You also need to determine what bolt pattern you have on your current wheels so that your new hubs will match. Check out the FAQ article I attached that shows how to determine this.
