Are there any 4 bike racks that can convert to a 2 bike rack?

We offer a good grouping of bike racks that can easily transition from 2 to 4 bikes and back. What kind of bikes do you have and how much do they weigh? Do you have any step-through frame bikes or carbon fiber frames that need extra protection? Are there any specific features you'd prefer or a price range you'd like to stick to? Having the experience I gotten from working with different bike racks there's honestly a lot of little things that you'll really want to check for to make your experience enjoyable and make sure that your bikes are safe and secure.

I have a size med carbon gravel bike, two size small mountain bikes and a size med mountain bike. All the mountain bikes aluminum and hard tails. I'd say they each weigh on avg 25 lbs or so. I am looking at tray type hitch racks. Would like to keep it less than $500

@Joseph The Curt 4 Bike Platform Rack # C18087 is going to be the closest option to your price range that's still a 4-bike carrier. It's not really recommended for a carbon fiber bike rack since it clamps down on the top tube of the bike frame. The Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # Y02443-2 is more than you're wanting to spend but would be the next closest in price and check each box. It can break down into a 2-bike carrier, secures bikes by the wheel instead of the frame, large wheel holders with ratcheting straps designed for mountain bikes, and pivoting rear-wheel cradles to accommodate your variety of bike sizes.
