Will The Factory Roof Rails On 2023 Lexus GX 460 Need Removed To Install Yakima FX Crossbars?

Question:

I am interested in the yakima skyline FX/jetstream aero crossbars for my 2014 Lexus GX 460 with factory flush rails. I have two questions. First, will these install using the Landing Pads 30s recommended WITHOUT me having to remove the actual factory flush rails themselves. I.e will they install directly into the 2/3 factory set mounts points within the flush rails themselves. Secondly, my GX 460 has three rows of preset factory mount locations one row over the sunroof, one in the middle over the second row seats and a third row above the rear cargo area. Can I install these yakima crossbars in any combination of those 3 options or can I only install them in the front two or rearward two rows of factory mounts? I cant find this information anywhere so appreciate your help. Thanks Dave

Those are some great questions, Dave. The Landing Pad 30 # Y25ZR will require you to remove the factory flush rails and the kit includes 6 mounts so you would be able to reposition the crossbars to front, middle or rear. Or you could get a 3rd crossbar to fit all 3 of your mounting positions.

The Yakima SkyLine FX Crossbar 41-1/2" # Y35TR will fit the middle and rear positions while the 45-1/2" # Y95TR will fit the front only. This is because the roof rails on your 2023 Lexus GX 460 are wider in the front.
