Question:

Looking for bearings and grease seal or maybe just replace the entire hub assembly. Older utility trailer, unknown axle type. 5 x 4 1/2 pattern, inner bearing 1 3/8”. Outer bearing 1 1/16”. Seal is 1 3/4”. Guidance?

Hi Joel; we have bearings and a seal with those measurements. For a bearing with a 1-1/16" (1.063") inner diameter what you need is Bearing # L44649.

Then for a bearing with a 1-3/8" (1.375") inner diameter the correct part is Bearing # LM48548.

There are a number of grease seals with a 1-3/4" (1.75") inner diameter though, and they all have different outer diameters so you are going to have to know what that is to get the right one. There isn't a hub we have or that I'm aware of which uses this combination of bearings and seals so a replacement for that won't be an option.

But for a grease seal with a 1.750" inner diameter and 2.565" outer diameter use the Timken # TMK29ZR. For a grease seal with a 1.750" inner diameter and 2.330" outer diameter use # 10-42. And for a grease seal with a 1.750" inner diameter and 2.772" outer diameter use # SL175.

If none of these work you'll have to replace the spindle with one that has the appropriate weight rating, such as the 3,500 lb # TRU24FR.

I have added a link below to our selection of spindles for you in case you have to go this route.
