Is etrailer Tonneau Cover For 2022 Ram 1500 With 5-1/2 Foot Bed Sturdy & Easy to Remove

Is this a sturdy cover? Good with keeping water out? Easy to remove for full bed access? How much does it weigh?

Hi Jeff; thanks for the question and sturdy is definitely a good word for the etrailer tonneau that fits your 2022 Ram 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed, the etrailer Hard Tonneau Cover # e35DR.
It's made of a fiberglass-reinforced plastic which is a robust composite material so it's not going to get damaged in everyday usage. As far as keeping water out, the # e35DR has weather seals both on the rails and on the underside of the actual cover, so there's a lot of protection from water getting in. It isn't an airtight seal, so could some water sneak in? Sure. But in general you can expect your Ram's bed to stay nice and dry.
The # e35DR weighs 70 lbs altogether, and removing it is pretty easy. The top of the cover and rails are separate, so you can just leave the rails on and take off the actual cover itself for full bed access. The hardest part is the cover being pretty big so it'll be kind of awkward for a single person to remove just due to its size, but certainly doable.
