Question:

I have a Solera 3000 Series awning on my RV and would like to add an LED light to the roller tube while the awning is extended in addition to the existing light that that is along the awning at the RV. Can I add this part to my awning to allow for a light that can be rolled up in the awning? Also can a wind sensor be added to this assembly to automatically retract the awning during increased winds?

For an LED strip on the roller you could add something like the Optronics Flexible LED Light Strip - Weatherproof - White - 17' Long # UCL90CB. However, you will need to figure out how to run power to the strip and account for the rolling/unrolling with the power wire.

There is the option of using the Solera Power Awning Idler Head w/ LED Upgrade # LC334785. However, this is designed to add lights to the inside of the tube, not on it. It also does not match your current Regal idler head design. If you don't mind the different heads and decide to add them inside of the tube this is the way to do it. You can still use a light strip like the # UCL90CB and hardwire it, it doesn't have to be a special strip from Lippert.

Regarding the wind sensor, that is not something that can be added to your existing Solera 3000. There are versions that come with the wind sensor but that is not available as an add-on since it has to connect to a unity board that needs special wiring.
