Tip to Make Furrion Vision S Monitor Appear Brighter

We bought the Furrion Vision S camera system from you guys in April 2019. The picture on the monitor is too faint in daylight to be useful. Already experimented with the brightness and contrast. Still poor. We previously had a cheaper not Furrion system whose monitor was far superior. I cant believe this is the best Furrion can do. Summer is coming up, and I need to get this problem fixed. Our rig is 2018 Ford 250 Superduty Crew cab long bed abt 23+ long with 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 26.5 BHS abt 32foot long. It had a Furrion pre-wire already on it. We bought the 7inch monitor Model FOS07TADS for the Furrion wireless camera system. Install was a snap. Its the monitor picture thats less than helpful. I mean there is a picture, it doesnt have stall issues, but we cant clearly see the cars behind us. HELP!

Since you already tried adjusting the brightness the only other solution would be to relocate the monitor to an area that has a darker lit background so that the brightness of the screen can stand out more. I am sorry to hear it's not working well for you, this is definitely not a common complaint with this setup.

I can't believe it's not a common complaint. I can't see very well on a sunny day. It needs a shroud to keep the sunlight out.

Can't believe this isn't a common complaint. My Furrion display is so dark it's almost useless in bright sunlight. I've maxed out the brightness setting and played with the contrast, and added a custom made hood... still can't see much on the monitor. It's sad they don't offer a better product, but I guess the lack of competition has them sitting on their hands.

@IanC The S+ system is an upgrade to the Vision S and it does have a better monitor like the part # FR39DF.

@JamesonC thanks for your reply. Furrion states that the S+ monitor has better resolution, but nothing is said about the brightness level. Not sure I’m willing to take a $450 gamble only to find out the brightness level is not improved. Will eTrailer take it back if I find the brightness is still not adequate?

@IanC It's actually listed as being 4 times brighter based on the specs for it. The original Vision S has a brightness of 180 cd/m² and the S+ is 700 cd/m². The cd/m² stands for candelas per square meter.

Hey Scott, the 7 inch and 5 inch Furrion monitors have the exact same functions. There wouldn't be a way to gain anything aside from a larger viewing angle with 7 inch monitor part #FR47FR.

Hey Bill, yes the Furrion Vision S+ #FR64AD would be a direct replacement for your current Vision S system. None of it is backwards compatible with the standard Vision S system though.
