Question:

Follow up question on the C29VV. I would think the position of the hitch support bar and the hitch receptacle itself would trigger the kick sensors to open the tailgate. Please confirm that installation of the C29VV would NOT interfere with the functionality of the kick sensor and that the kick sensor does not have to be relocated.

I can tell you John, I had the same concern when I installed a receiver on my Acura RDX. While my receiver did not entirely prevent the use of the kick sensor for the hands free liftgate it did limit the area I was able to kick due to the receiver. You will have the same issue on your 2024 Lexus RX 500h. Once you install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C29VV you simply need to test different areas around the receiver to figure out which area works best for the kick sensor.

I do recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK92KR when you install the receiver. This will give you a 4-way flat connector for connecting to most small trailers or using Auxiliary Lights # C53201 for a hitch mounted accessory.

@JohnR Do be sure to check your local laws as many state are adopting new laws which require Auxiliary Lights # C53201 and a License Plate Holder # Y02713 since many bikes will impair the view of these when loaded.
