Question:
I have an old pop up trailer frame that has the four lug bolt pattern for the tire Rim. I would like to go to a five lug and was wondering if I was able to switch out the hubs on the existing axle. To be 5 lug pattern?

It very well may be possible for you to swap out the 4 lug hubs on your pop-up for a 5 lug hub. It comes down to what size spindle/bearings are currently on the trailer.
A lot of pop up campers will use a light duty axle rated for 3,500 lbs or less. For example a very common one is a 2,000 lb rated axle, which has a straight spindle and uses either the # L44643 (1" inner diameter) or the # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearings.
If you are able to remove one of the hubs you can measure the spindle with a micrometer to determine the proper bearing size. Another way to determine this is to remove the bearings. Each bearing should have a number stamped on the edge which we can use to determine the correct hub.
If you do have one of the common sizes that I listed above, we can absolutely get you 5 lug hubs that will fit. For example the hub # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K will fit straight spindles with the # L44649 bearing, or the # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-1K for the # L44643. These hubs use the standard 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.
If this is not exactly what you have, go ahead and get those bearing sizes or measurements feel free to send me your findings and I am happy to make a recommendation.
